To Grandma's House I Go

Grandma D and Papa T are coming in to town today to pick me up and bring me back to their house near the bay in Washington. This is going to be my first visit to their house without mommy and daddy. It's because I'm a big girl now, almost 1 years old, don'tcha know.

My daddy had to go and stay in the hospital for a few days because the doctors are going to fix his back today. The Doctors are going to fix his back so when I get a little bigger he can give me bucking bronco rides. Daddy has been working hard plowing the backyard, planting grass and building a fence, so that I won't run out into the woods next year and get eaten by any black bears or coyotes that live out there.

I'm pretty sure that my dog Blade could protect me, though, since he is just as big as any bear!

I am excited to go stay with Grandma D and Papa T, but I'm going to miss my Auntie Annie, she's the one writing this for me. I will also miss my mommy and my daddy very much, and I will miss my Nana and Gypa Robin alot.

When I get back home there will only be 20 days left to my birthday, and my daddy will be back home too!

I have my very own room at Grandma D and papa T's house. It has a big white, fluffy bed, with lots of pillows, and there are hundreds of teddy bears and pretty dolls I get to play with, and I plan on seeing how many of them I can reach, since I'm just now learning to walk. Grandma D has a piano too, and I think I may want to play it.

They don't have any pets, but they have a stuffed shaggy dog, that is the same size as a real one, that I can play with too.

What I Want For My 1st Birthday - An Education Fund!

Now perhaps you can't resist to buy that whirlie-thing-a-ma-jig that goes bump and whirr, and grind and plays over 40 songs, but before you do, take a moment to consider the long-term, future, you know, seventeen short years from now. Close your eyes, and think what the world will be like in 17 years.

Are you frightened out of your mind yet?

Good.

Now, we all love to see the precious Terragen smiles, and her giggles could be bottled up and sold for a fortune, so to give her new toys for her birthday and watch her rip open bright packages with curly ribbon and squeal at the contents is priceless, no doubt. However, more loving and giving would be to truly make our dollars count by contributing towards little T's future.

She is a bright and beautiful little girl, and so, we all want her to have the opportunity to go and rock this world in a big way.

That said, as her aunt, I am recommending that you consider the Oregon College Savings Plan, in lieu of toys for little T. You can either open your own account, or give to Angela and Yvain to be placed in a fund they have set up. There may be various tax reasons to do one or the other.
